Implementing new practices to manage climate change variability in the Australian pastoral zone

Short term goals:
  • Assess and understand up to date climate information
  • Understand climate change and the potential impacts on the pastoral zone
  • Assess relevant adaptation responses to climate change for pastoral businesses
  • Develop individual action plans to assist with improved climate change risk management.
Latest Project Report: Producer Survey

There is a mixed feeling about the impact of climate change on pastoral businesses over Australia, and there is much debate as to if the current climatic conditions are climate change or climate variability.

Producers are actively responding to changes in their environment, and are aware of the need to look after their natural resources for sustainable production. Implementing sustainable grazing techniques and land management principles are of high priority for all producers.
