Successful Optimum Reproduction Workshops in QLD

The Making More from Sheep funded (with the support of Leading Sheep) a series of 4 "Nutritional Management of Merinos for Optimum Reproduction" workshop throughout Qld (Longreach, Cunnamulla, Bollon & St George) in August with a total of 80 participants.

Producers found the day very informative and inspiring, a lot of participants commented that they were going to re-think their feeding regimes and make some changes to hopefully improve reproduction within their flock. 

Dr John Milton spoke about sheep nutrition being a major contributor to reproduction performance of ewes and rams. In particular he focussed on the ram effect, feeding for iWalter Bell "Habnarey Station" Dirranbandi,
 Phil Bell "Miltonise" St George and John Milton (presenter) Independent Lab Services Western Australiamproved ovulation rate, importance of pregnancy scanning, feeding for colostrum production and maintaining ewes in condition score 3.

Participants gave the day a satisfaction and value rating of 9/10, many of the producers commented it was a fantastic day. One producer commented that this day "will make a huge difference to our sheep enterprise". Another comment was "Fantastic to have the opportunity to listen to such a knowledgeable and respected nutritionist. Great day, don't think you could have done anything better, thankyou!"
